The All Progressives Congress (APC) threatens to reject yesterday Anambra Governorship election results, if voting did not take place in all the local governments. A statement released by its interim National Publicity Secretary said it will reject results from its strongholds of  Idemili-North, Idemili-South and Awka-South.
The party condemned the shortcomings in the voters’ register, which omitted the names of many voters and called for the  immediate removal of the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukogu.
The statement read,

‘’Before the election, political parties were given a voter’s register that largely contained the names of most voters. However, about four days to the election, INEC said at a stakeholders’ forum that there were problems with the register, which would be rectified before the election.
When the supposedly-corrected registers were brought back, most of the authentic names in them have disappeared without explanation.”

Expressing his displeasure at the DSS, @elrufai said he was met by security operatives shortly after he arrived Awka yesterday evening and checked into his hotel. They offered him protection in view of the security situation in the state, which is known for the kidnapping of high profile persons.
The former minister said he rejected the offer as he has his police orderly with him, but was surprised this morning that the DSS came and prevented him from living the hotel.

Governor Peter Obi Movement Restricted by Security Agent

Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State
Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State

Governor Peter Obi was prevented this morning  from living government house to monitor Anambra election. The governor confirmed the development and deemed it as normal, when journalist came calling on him at his office. He was seen treating files. The restriction also extended to his security aides.
However, the governor left the lodge 11.50am for accreditation at his house in Agulu, getting security clearance from the police.
It will recall that Nigerian governor enjoy immunity and I just wonder why another arm of government would place restriction on another arm that enjoy immunity.
Meanwhile, let get to El Rufai story in the next post
